We did it!

I am totally on cloud nine tonight!
Hubs and I went this afternoon and closed on our old house!
Gone are the days of 2 mortgages!

And, yes, it is slightly bittersweet...
We bought the old place a couple of months before we got married and completely remodeled the entire house in the 7 years we lived there.  It's the home we started out in, got our first dog, took new babies home to...

Geez, that's enough of that!

Well miss the old house, but loving the new place a lot helps!
Speaking of the new place...get ready, because Hubs is inaugurating the kids and I into gardening, and it's already been pretty comical!  We are learing a lot!

Well, OK...

This is how a conversation with Bug went on the way to a chior concert at church tonight.

Bug: Mom where do Crocodiles live?
Me: Um, I think they live in swamps...
Bug: Where are the swamps?
Me: I don't know Bug, somewhere in Florida I think
Bug: Can you take me to a swamp mom?
Me: Um, no, not right now...
Bug: No, no, not right now...I mean after we go to Colorado.
Me: Bug, I'm really sorry, but I'm pretty sure that we won't go to a swamp...I don't really even know if I could find a swamp.
Bug: Oh, that's easy mom...just type it in to Karen your GPS and she'll tell you everything you need to know.

Well, if only it was that easy.

Future Firefighters...

**Disclaimer...sorry for the poor picture quality.  I had to steal this pics off of my phone. The mother of the year award goes to me for not thinking to take my camera on this outing.  So sorry!**

BFF and I have hubby's with weird hours.
Mine, of course, disappears every third day to "Hewlp dim people on de abalance"
and hers works long hours coaching high school sports.

So, whenever we can, we spend our husband-less evenings getting out with the kids.
Of course, if we were really smart, we'd get away huband-less and kid-less every once in a while....
but I guess a girl can dream!

One of our recent outings was to Hub's new firestation.
This firestation is pretty neat.
It's "green"
and huge.
Which, I'm not sure that those two neccissarily go together...
but we won't tell the city :)

Hubs showed the kids around the firehouse and then showed them all of the firetrucks.
If you've never toured your local firestation, I highly recommend it.
It's really cool.

Then all of the kids got to shoot water out of the hose!
Ace was not impressed with the loud sounds of the water pump,
but eventually was ripped from my arms with encouragement from Hubs
decided to try it out.

He was glad, after the fact, that he tried it out.
Which Hubs was glad for...I mean, what respectable fireman has a strapping son afraid of a little water hose?

Oh, and what trip to the firestation is complete without your very own firehat?

Not a one!
That's K...
you can't get that kid to be serious for anything!

Goofballs!

The biggest excitment of all came when the tones went off for a grass fire and we got to see all of the guys jump into action!
The kids got a kick out of seeing Hubs put on his grass fire gear...

(BFF got the whole thing on video, but sadly, I don't have a copy.)
and jump into the truck...

(Geez, have I ever mentioned how much I love a guy in uniform...or maybe it's love my guy in uniform...hmm?)

Focus...
then they rode off to the fire,
but returned soon.

And I can't help but show off this one.
Poor Bug...
She's always surrounded by boys!
But she never misses an opportunity to show them her wicked cool skills!
This pic cracks me up.
She had just seen Hubs demonstrate how to use this particular piece of equipment in the gym and had to give it her best try.
She is one tough cookie...
or at least she gives it her best effort!

Take Me Out To The Ball Game...

We love baseball!

Every spring we get all reved up about our Texas Rangers!

Recently, we got the chance to go see our friend's highschool baseball team play at our nearest minor league baseball fields.

Unfortunately the mighty Coyotes didn't win, but we had a lot of fun!

Ace, and our friend K after the game!
I'm pretty sure we bribed Ace for a picture where he acctually looked at the camera!

Bug enjoyed modeling my sunglasses!

This one makes me crack up!
Ace loves trying to keep up with the big boys!
It's really sweet!

Spring Break...

Well, Spring Break 2010, we really miss you already.

We had a great time.

Sorry to see all the sleeping in fun-filled days come to an end so abruptly.

Bug, as excited by school as she has been, was very excited about Spring Break.

She told Ace every day for a week...

"Now, Ace...next week is my Spring Break.
I won't have school and get to
stay in my jammies and sleep in my own bed
as long as I want to.
So next week,
DO NOT COME IN MY ROOM AND WAKE ME UP!
It is Spring Break!"

This is what I walked into Tues. after my shower while the boys were at the deer lease.

Oh, the good life!

Just In Case You've Ever Wondered...

What a 3 y.o. boy looks like after an 8+ hr car ride...

Not pictured...

What a 3 y.o.'s mother looks like after an 8+ hr drive.
Trust me, it wasn't pretty.

Buster...

Well, I guess it's time to get caught back up.

The kids went to bed early and the computer is having a good day...

that or I'm just more patient today :)

Probably a combination of all of the above!

So, Gram didn't like the fact that the boys (JJ and JRod) kept calling Lester "Mo" for short...

now we have Buster.

And he's cute!
This is Buster on the day Gram got him.

Bug immediately started petitioning Hubs for her very own "Pet Indoors"

Evidently no 5, almost 6 y.o. girl is complete without one!

Ace loves him too!

He and Gram hit it off immediately.
She even learned how to txt pictures.
Yes, my mom txt me a picture of my little doggy "brother"
Don't worry...I giggled a little too!
He's obviously feeling right at home!

We worried about Grandpa, though.
Grandpa didn't really want a pet...
but remember, he really, really didn't want a cat.

But we're pretty sure he's had a change of heart.
Or he couldn't resist all of the extra ears and skin flaps...
